My boys are active on the Internet. I’ve worked in tech for over 20 years and now speak about managing your digital life and technology risk. Recently, I discovered there is no training at some schools for children about online safety. This isn’t true for all schools, but it is for the one my children attend. So I started asking some parents if they need some online training. Then, I asked about their children and training.
This sparked a question I posted on Facebook:
What did I learn from the Q&A and facebook post? Parents need help educating their children about online safety. Whether the students already get help in school or not, there is a need to educate parents.
I’m currently investigating if there is a desire for Lexington-area parents to attend a training session or two about online safety. If you know of anyone who would like to attend, please ask them to fill out an informational gathering survey to help me craft the training.
